Looks like Apple could not be left far behind when it even came to world politics. The recent addition to the apple apps store, the wikileaks application has been pulled off the e-shelves by Apple. One thing is for sure that Apple wants to tread cautiously lest it faces the wrath of the U.S. government.
The wikileaks application was created by developer Igor Barinov and was available for $1.99. The app was on sale for just three days, before Apple decided to pull the strings on it. Apple is one of the few in the latest lines of companies who have steered clear of any association with wikileaks. The application also was tuned to show twitter feeds from wikileaks.
The question though that everybody seems to be asking is on what grounds the application got pulled off apples store. But again, in retrospect, don’t we all know the obvious reason? It’s time I guess to wait for Apple’s official take on this matter. Till then, Let Speculation run Amock like the case has been with most wikileaks related controversies.
